Paragliding with your better half

Is there something better to spend an adventurous weekend with your significant other on a paraglider?

Imagine flying in two different paragliders and get to say “hi” in mid air!

If you are lucky enough to have a life partner who loves adventure, adrenaline and extreme sports as much as you, there is nothing better than doing adventures together. Flying as a couple can be the best therapy you can do, spend time alone, surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes that your eyes can contemplate, far from the banalities of daily life, there is nothing more relaxing than that!

This couple took the spontaneous decision to hike up mount Grimming to launch themselves into a Paragliding adventure from the top. The wind was not perfect, so they had to hike down via Multereck to find a right takeoff spot.

The Grimming is an isolated peak in the Dachstein Mountains of Austria and one of the few ultra-prominent mountains of the Alps. Is considered to be the highest mountain of the province, before the first land surveying was done.

At once fascinating and threatening, Mount Grimming has for millennia dominated the life, culture and economy of the Enns Valley as a habitat for plants, people and animals, a challenge for alpinists and a source of inspiration for artists. This exhibition takes a wide-ranging look at ‘grim’ Mount Grimming. Sombre myths jostle with contemporary art and everyday culture.

Climbing the Grimming may seem like a strenuous activity, but the strong winds you’ll find to propel your paraglider will make it worthwhile. Not to mention the tranquility of spending a romantic evening with your better half surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes.

Mount Grimming, is a really nice destination for someone wanting to get his feet wet in mountain flying. The airport is located at the western rim of the Hungarian plain and the landscape was dotted by bright yellow patches of blooming canola fields. You need to plan your route well, pick the passes and valleys to follow. It isn’t really difficult and the mountains get only up to about 7-8,000 feet. But if you get trapped in a wrong valley you face the danger of having to ardously climb over the mountains and cross some very inhospitable terrain. It pays being able to anticipate where the turbulence is and where not.
