The wingsuit flying has been taken to the next level by Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, who are two BASE-jumping experts from France known as the Soul Flyers. From the evening sky to Dubai, from France to the Czech Republic The Soul Flyers are known for pushing the boundries of flight.
The past February 26, the French Fred Fugen and Vincent Reffet took their wingsuit and flew at altitude on the station of La Clusaz. When they got off a plane, the two friends of Soul Flyers, accompanied by Seb Collomb-Gros, passed a dozen meters on the slopes of the Balme Massif with four consecutive jumps in an afternoon.
Teams from the Riding Zone program were also with our favourite wingsuit flyers, for this unique feat, which can be found behind the scenes in the March 31 broadcast. It is possible that this flight could integrate the Riding Zone program that gathers the most beautiful feats of the air.
The Soul Flyers specialists in performances of base jumps and wingsuits, were presented this Tuesday in La Clusaz, having fun flying over the Balme massif, the Haute-Savoie ski lifts and the Tracks at full speed on four great consecutive flights.
The La Clusaz ski area has developed all around the village, from the Beauregard plateau to the Aravis chain towards the Confins. It is located between 1090 and 2477 meters above sea level. It should be noted that there are no less than four companies that each manage a greater or lesser part of the estate. The whole stands on four quite distant sectors located at the limits of the commune. The highest point of the domain is Pointe des Verres (2616 m) between the Combes de Balme and Torchère.
Other highlights are also located on the area such as Aiguille, Pointe de Merdassier and Beauregard. From the different points of the ski area, we also have views of the center of La Clusaz, the Croix-Fry and Merdassier passes, as well as the Danay, Tête de Cabeau, Mont Lachat and the Head Torraz (station Giettaz – Savoie) and Mont Blanc (4810 m) from the pass of Balme! The resort also has a cross-country ski area made up of 17 trails located at Confins and on the Beauregard plateau. There is also a Nordic link track between the Bouchet valley (Grand-Bornand station) and the Confins (La Clusaz station).
Flying in an air suit is the culmination of the dream of humanity: to be able to feel the freedom of a bird. For the French Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, components of Soul Flyers, flying with air suits is much more. This video is something really unique but it represents the vision they have of what it means to fly with a wingsuit.
Although it is called “freestyle” that does not mean there is no plan: “Every movement, every trajectory is planned and prepared. We know exactly what we are going to do in each moment. It’s like a choreography that we practiced before. We repeat it on land, then from an airplane and finally from cliffs “, clarifies Fugen.
In November of 2017, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, the duo known as Soul Flyers, managed to climb to the next level. From a peak at 4,062m above sea level, the two wingsuit specialists managed to enter through the narrow door of a plane in flight while it was launched at 147 km / h.
